HCHS Child Development Center Objectives

The educational practices of the Early Childhood Laboratory at Habersham CentralHigh School are based on research in the field of child growth and development. Our program is designed to respond to the uniqueness and needs of the individual children. We understand that telling is not teaching. Self-learning, self-discovery, and natural curiosity are all part of the learning process for children. We understand that we are models for learning. We do not attempt to impose our personal ideas onto children. We do recognize, however, that a childcare program may not meet the individual needs of all children.
