We have fun themes to focus on each week. These are the tentative plans for the school year.
Because we are a lab school environment with much of our beneficial child-teacher ratio depending on interns, there are sometimes "gaps" and other "holidays" when preschoolers do not attend because of conflicts with the high school calendar and events.

The letters of the alphabet and their sounds will be discussed and studied daily. Research shows that children learn the first letter of their name before all other letters. Therefore, the "letter of the week" is based on the children's names drawn from a "hat." After all of the children's special letters have been covered, subsequent weeks will feature letters based in no particular order...it may depend on a theme, or something special happening during that time. Children that already recognize letters and their sounds will be given more challenging application activities to advance their literacy skills.

First Day of Preschool - September 15, 2009 ~ Drop off begins at 8:05am, School begins at 8:15am
St. Jude Trike-A-Thon - April 1, 2010, 9:30am
Last Day of School and End-Of-Year Program ~ May 2010 ~ 9:30am, Cafeteria ~ We have a cute program planned to celebrate the school year and fifth class of preschoolers. All parents and close family are invited to attend. Watch for invitations in the Spring; and RSVP number of guests.
